About Emily Sharratt

A Journey Rooted in Resilience and Well-Being

Emily Sharratt’s passion for wellness and resilience began in her childhood, growing up in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago. With a mother who was a psychology professor, Navy veteran, and corporate social worker, and a father who was a Doctor of Chiropractic, Emily was immersed in holistic wellness from a young age. Her mother introduced her to guided meditation at just nine years old to help manage the effects of ADHD and stress, while her father ensured her nervous system health through chiropractic care and nutrition. This early foundation set the stage for a lifelong commitment to personal and professional well-being.

However, life’s challenges came early. After an eight-year battle with cancer, Emily’s mother passed away when she was just 22. Stepping up in the face of adversity, she put her education on hold to care for her mother but later returned to complete her coursework at an accelerated pace. She went on to earn her Master’s degree from Washington University in St. Louis, the #1 ranked Social Work program at the time. There, she specialized in human behavior, mental health, and psychosocial wellness, becoming an expert in trauma-informed care and the psychological and social factors that influence overall well-being.

A Career Built on Empowerment and Innovation

Emily’s career began in community health, providing wraparound behavioral health, crisis response, and family well-being planning. She dedicated over a decade to social work and counseling, working in high-need communities where she empowered individuals, schools, and organizations to cultivate resilience. In 2018, she was nominated for the county’s Hope Award for her innovative approach to advocating for homeless youth through job skill development and workforce training.

Her ability to bridge gaps between individuals, communities, and institutions led her to a leadership role in education, serving as a high school counselor. She implemented systems-level approaches to improve student and staff well-being, partnering with organizations such as the Department of Labor and the Chamber of Commerce to create workforce development programs. She was later elected to the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education’s School Counseling Advisory Board, advocating for mental health and career readiness initiatives across the state.

In 2020, Emily was entrusted with leading a district-wide workforce well-being initiative, assessing employee needs and designing solutions using her expertise in the 8 Dimensions of Wellness. This experience sparked her transition into corporate consulting, where she applied the same evidence-based methodologies to improve workplace retention, engagement, and well-being.

Transforming Workplace Culture Through Data-Driven Well-Being and the Secrets of Psychology

Emily’s expertise in workforce resilience led her to the corporate sector, where she rapidly rose to leadership in talent acquisition. She played a pivotal role in reducing employee attrition by 76% for a Fortune 500 company within a year and went on to lead hiring strategies for a Fortune 250 Aerospace company. Recognized for her ability to drive sustainable workforce solutions, she was promoted to management within six months—an unprecedented achievement in her company.

As the founder of Emily Sharratt Consulting, she now partners with organizations to create employee-first strategies that drive engagement, productivity, and retention. By leveraging psychosocial frameworks such as Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, the Gallup Q12, and the Transtheoretical Model of Change, she helps companies implement sustainable well-being initiatives and remove roadblocks for previously attempted initiatives that fell short.

Her work involves:
✔ Company Well-Being Assessments – Conducting tailored employee surveys and policy reviews to identify organizational strengths and areas for improvement.
✔ Leadership Training & Coaching – Teaching HR teams and executives how to implement effective retention strategies and workforce well-being solutions.
✔ Employee Development Workshops – Equipping teams with tools for resilience, communication, and engagement.

Emily believes that people are at the heart of every thriving organization. Whether working with individuals, teams, or entire corporations, she brings a data-driven, human-centered approach to creating healthier, more successful workplaces.
